It’s finally done! I had such a blast designing this room. Thanks to the help of my parents and husband, it turned out exactly as I envisioned. I can’t wait to take pictures of my sweet baby girl in it![]()
GOALS: modern, colorful, not too baby-ish, not too girly, not too “matchy” & of course photo-friendly.
Click on “categories” then “mama mia” to view my maternity book I’m making. I’ve incorporated the chalkboard wall in some of those pictures as well.
*yes I used a ruler on the chalkboard drawings. lol.

Thanks so much! Im going on the hunt!
Yes I used Zeal Teal. I am unsure about the lighter color. I do know it was on the same color swatch.
Hi, I dont mean to be repetitive but the changing table what two colors did u use? is one of them the ‘teal zeal” but what about the light color? Id really appreciate your response!
thanks!
Not really. Normally the things I draw myself are too high for Mia to reach. And surprisingly, she doesn’t pay much attention to the wall right now. I’m not sure what you mean about the focus on the words. Mabe I’m reading it wrong? I might need another cup of coffee though.
Ikea!
I just found your blog the other day via Pinterest. I love your work!
My question is in regards to the little mesh storage containers that you have in the shelf bench. Where did you find them? Did they come from Ikea too?
aren’t you scared your beautiful chalk art will be so easily erased or rubbed up against?
Also – do you mind sharing how you were able to clearly focus on all of the words on the chalk letters?
Love your blog
And work
I’m so sorry but I could not find the colors
if you ever emailed Andrea those paint colors, I’d love to know!! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this room!! I am plannning a toddler room for my daughter and really wanted bright colors…and to use aqua. I love the thought of grey, pink, yellow, and aqua. Modern, Quirky, and cool!! Oh also what color pink is your bed? I searched for the perfect shade of hot pink for a high chair I painted and couldn’t find it anywhere. I ended up going with bubble gum pink instead but your crib has re-inspired me!!!
How did you paint the birds?
Thank you! I drew them on with pencil then painted them by hand
lovely room! How did you paint the birds?
This is beautiful! It’s so bright and cheerful, yet feels sophisticated too! I love it!
I love this nursery! from the mismatched printed fabrics, The Ikea shelf turned bench to the chalkboard wall, every detail is so beautiful!
Your room is beautiful! I am wondering where you got the lovely sheer curtains at (something I would love for my bedroom)! I wish I could have had you to design my baby boys nursery.
Thank You SO Much! I look forward to getting the picture.
I don’t mind at all Andrea. I understand the headache choosing paint colors can cause. Hubby has to install something in the attic tonight. I’ll get him to bring the can down and I’ll take a pic of the sticker on the lid that has all the numbers. I called Sherwin Williams and they said you’ll just need the code. They don’t have the other colors I mixed the grey from. I’ll email you the pic later.
Ok. I know Im some random blog stalker- and I hate to bug you- really… I know this is the last thing you probably want to do- BUT I have had such a hard time picking out my grey- infact, we decided to resort to pink because I couldn’t decide on a grey- and then when I saw your room- well, the color was just perfect. SO- I went to Sherwin Williams today to get a sampler of “Dark Silver” – but they needed to know the two greys that you mixed together. If you know them… PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know… I’m dying here.
and I’d really appreciate it… Thanks so much.
p.s. Tell your husband I’ll send him $ to climb into the attic again…
Andrea: I’m pretty sure the color is “teal zeal”. Not sure about the grey.
Sorry- I wasn’t very specific… The antique dresser? Oh heck, if you remember the color of the lingerie desser that one too!
Thanks!
I am in love with this room. Exactly whats been in my head- but I haven’t been sure how it is going to come together. We’ve been going back and forth between grey or pink walls… This is absolutely Beautiful. I am wondering, what color did you paint the dresser? Thanks so much!
Thanks Laura!
That blanket was passed down to me from my grandmother. If you type in afghan granny blankets on http://www.etsy.com you can find some.
Johanna, my daughter Lisa Murphy Neal is always sending me your latest and greatest talents! You are absolutely talented. I love the nursery. I have to know, where did you get the crocheted granny square afgan/blanket from. It is beautiful!
To those that were wondering what color the paint was, I had my hubby climb into the attic to check it out. Its called
“Dark Silver” from Sherwinn Wiliiams.
Andrea: I had to mix two different greys to get that color and I don’t remember what it is. I would check but its in the attic.
Frances & Whitney: I used Mellissa’s Boutique http://www.etsy.com/shop/mellissasboutique
I love the crib bedding from Etsy. What shop did you use?!
I love how this nursery is pieced together. Everything has an eye for design! I’m planning a gender neutral nursery, and will use this as inspiration!! Which etsy site did you purchase the yellow crib bedding? It goes gorgeously with the grey in the room!!
Love it! What is the paint color on the walls?
